1 in 5 people feel anxious nearly all the time
The Mental Health Foundation published a report - Living with
Anxiety: Understanding the role and impact of anxiety on our lives,
which found that "almost 1 in 5 people revealed that they feel
anxious 'nearly all of the time or 'a lot of the time'."
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health problems in the
UK and it appears to be increasing, however it remains
under-reported, under-diagnosed and under-treated.
Anxiety is a familiar emotion because it is part of everyone's
experience. It is a natural function which alerts us to
potential threats and keeps us safe, however, for some people
anxiety triggers inappropriate or disproportionate responses to
perceived threats.
